"In Case You lot Didn't Know" is a song recorded by American land pop vocalizer Brett Young and co-written by Young, Jay Taylor, Tyler Reeve, and Kyle Schlienger. It was released to radio on January 9, 2017 as the second single from his debut self-titled anthology (2017).[2] The vocal has been certified three× Platinum by the RIAA, the kickoff vocal by Brett Young to receive a Platinum certification.[3]
The vocal was written in 2016 during a working trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.[4] Young co-wrote the vocal at the retreat with Tyler Reeve, Kyle Schlienger, and Trent Tomlinson. According to Young, the inspiration for the song came from a story told by Peters nearly his wife Brandy: "[Peters] said when he was a child, his mom would not be the type to say "I love y'all" but he seemed to ever know it in some style. Peters married his wife in March 1998 and he wanted to show his honey for her by co writing this vocal."[3]
In 2017, Immature released a duet version of the song with Irish singer Una Healy.[5]
Commercial functioning [edit]
The song first entered on Billboard 's Hot Country Songs chart at number 45 for the week of August 6, 2016 subsequently information technology was featured on The Highway in July 2016, selling 9,000 copies that week. It also peaked at number ii for a record of sixteen sequent weeks but it was kept out of the height spot past "Body Like a Back Road" by Sam Hunt.[half-dozen] [seven] The song debuted on the Country Airplay chart at number 52 for the week of December 24, 2016 before its official release in January 2017. It peaked at number one for the week of June 10, 2017, making information technology Young's showtime number one hit of his career.[8] The vocal reached over a meg in actual sales past January 2018.[nine] On April 11, 2019, the single was certified quadruple platinum past the Recording Industry Clan of America (RIAA) for over 4 million combined sales and stream units in the United States.[10] It has sold 1,263,000 copies in the United States as of November 2019.[11]

The music video was directed by Jennifer Rothlein.[12]
Young climbs out of the back of a taxi cab and, after a few backstage shots, performs the song to an empty Tivoli Theatre consisting of merely his desired woman in the audience (played by Sara Morgan).[13] [fourteen] [xv] She shortly disappears, however, and the video ends equally Young walks out the front end doors of the theatre and downwards the sidewalk into the distance.
